#11 COMME des GARÇONS exhibition at The Met

Anyway, today I'd like to share about Rei Kawakubo/ COMME des GARÇONS exhibition at Metropolitan Museum!! This exhibition is extremely popular now.

皆さんこんにちは、週末はいかがお過ごしですか？今日はニューヨーク、メトロポリタン美術館で開催されてる、大好評の「川久保玲/ コムデギャルソン展」について少し紹介したいと思います。

Comme des Garçons is a Japanese fashion label founded by Rei Kawakubo in 1969. Comme des Garçons is based in Tokyo and also in the prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris, the city in which they show their main collections during Paris Fashion Week and Paris Men's Fashion Week.

This is the museum's first monographic exhibition on a living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983. The thematic show features approximately 140 examples of Kawakubo's womenswear for Comme des Garçons dating from the early 1980s to her most recent collection. Her works are beautiful, unique, mysterious and grotesque, and those are made to see rather than to wear. Her works are very artistic... I am so proud that such a big maison is from my country, Japan.

存命のデザイナーの中では、1983年のイヴ・サンローランに続いてふたり目という川久保玲のエキシビジョンは大変好評で、私が見に行った日もたいへん混雑していました。こんな有名なメゾンが、日本のブランドだとは日本人として、とても嬉しく誇りに思います。このエキシビジョンは2017年9月4日まで開催されているので、もしもメトロポリタン美術館に行く機会があれば、ぜひともチェックしてみてくださいね！😉💗

By the way, the view from the roof of the Metropolitan Museum is amazing! You can see Midtown through Central Park. The Metropolitan Museum is absolutely one of my favorite places in New York City.
